Inhalt:
This lecture deals with the interaction of traffic with air quality. Starting with the emission behaviour of vehicles (engines), the influencing parametres will be discussed. A section concerning atmospheric dispersion conditions shall give an overview of the interaction between meteorology, emissions and air quality.
Airborne gaseous pollutants as well as aerosols are the target pollutants.
Special emphasis is put on NO-NO2 formation, ozone formation on the gaseous pollution, while particle size distribution and formation of secondary aerosoles are main items on the PM side.
